  • The first time you start your Sony Xperia XZ1, a setup guide opens to help you configure basic settings, sign in to some accounts, and personalise your device.
  • 1. Select the required language and touch GET STARTED.
  • 2. Ensure that I am aware of the important information is checked and touch ACCEPT.
  • 3. Touch Mobile network and Wi-Fi.
  • 4. Touch the desired option (e.g., Set up as new).
  • 5. Touch the required Wi-Fi network.
  • 6. Enter the required password.
  • 7. Once entered, touch CONNECT.
  • 8. Checking info…. will appear briefly.
  • 9. Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. To sign in, enter your Google account email address and touch NEXT.

    Note: A Google account is needed to take advantage of Android features such as Device Protection, Gmail, Google Hangouts and Google Play Store.
  • 10. Enter the Google account password and touch NEXT.
  • 11. Touch I AGREE.
  • 12. Touch ADD FINGERPRINT.
  • 13. Touch the desired option (e.g., Fingerprint + PIN).
  • 14. Enter your desired PIN and touch CONTINUE.
  • 15. Re-enter your PIN and touch OK.
  • 16. Touch NEXT.
  • 17. Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor repeatedly until the scan is complete.
  • 18. Touch DONE.
  • 19. A list of options will appear and you can touch the sliders to enable or disable them. Touch MORE to scroll down the list.
  • 20. Touch AGREE when you are ready to continue.
  • 21. Touch NEXT.
  • 22. Touch YES, IʼM IN.
  • 23. Touch GET STARTED.
  • 24. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Google Assistant.
  • 25. Touch FINISHED.
  • 26. If you see this screen, sign in to Xperia services or touch NOT NOW.
  • 27. Touch SKIP.
  • 28. Touch NEXT.
  • 29. Touch the desired option (e.g., ALLOW).
  • 30. Touch the desired option (e.g., Wi-Fi only).
  • 31. Touch ALL SET.
  • 32. Touch FINISH to complete the setup process.
